Amish Sauerkraut Surprise Custard Pie Recipe
- 2 ½ cups milk
- ¾ cup drained and chopped sauerkraut
- ½ cup white sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 (9 inch) pie shell
step 1: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
step 2: In a large bowl, combine milk, sauerkraut, sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt.
step 3: Pour mixture into pie shell. Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted into filling 1 inch from the edge comes out clean.
