Blonde Brownies I Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ⅛ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- ⅓ cup butter, melted
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ⅔ cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
step 2: Measure 1 cup sifted flour. Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Sift again. Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Mix well and set aside.
step 3: Stir the brown sugar into the melted butter and mix well. Cool slightly.
step 4: Mix the beaten egg and vanilla into the brown sugar mixture. Add flour mixture, a little at a time, mixing just until combined.
step 5: Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle 1/2 to 1 cup chocolate chips on top. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 20 to 25 minutes.
