Boston Brown Bread II Recipe

Ingredients
<br>- 1 cup white sugar
<br>- 1 1/2 cups raisins
<br>- 2 teaspoons baking soda
<br>- 1 teaspoon salt
<br>- 1 tablespoon margarine
<br>- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
<br>- 1 egg
<br>- 2 cups all-purpose flour

<br>step 1: In a large bowl, mix together sugar, raisins, baking soda, salt, margarine and boiling water. Cover and let stand overnight.
<br>step 2: The following day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
<br>step 3: Beat egg and flour into raisin mixture. Pour batter into prepared pan.
<br>step 4: Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.
