Chocolate Blossoms Recipe
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup confectioners' sugar for rolling
step 1: In a medium bowl, mix together the butter and cocoa until smooth. Beat in the sugar, eggs and vanilla until well blended. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually blend into the chocolate mixture to form a dough. Cover dough and chill for at least 2 hours or overnight.
step 2: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and roll the balls in the confectioners' sugar. Place cookies 3 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
step 3: Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until the tops of the cookies have cracked. remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.
