Congo Squares Recipe
- ¾ cup butter, melted
- 2 ¼ cups packed light brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Set aside.
step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine butter or margarine and brown sugar; cool slightly. Beat in eggs, one at a time. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to sugar mixture and mix well. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
step 3: Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. When almost cool, cut into 48 squares.
