German Apple Dapple Cake Recipe

Ingredients
<br>- 1 ½ cups vegetable oil
<br>- 3  eggs
<br>- 1 cup packed brown sugar
<br>- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
<br>- 1 teaspoon baking soda
<br>- 1 teaspoon salt
<br>- 3 cups all-purpose flour
<br>- 1 cup chopped walnuts
<br>- 4 cups chopped apples
<br>- 1 cup packed brown sugar
<br>- ½ cup butter
<br>- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
<br><p></p>Directions
<br>step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan, or a 10 inch tube pan. Stir the flour, baking soda and salt together and set aside.
<br>step 2: In a large bowl, cream the oil, eggs, 1 cup brown sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Add the flour mixture and mix well. Stir in the chopped apples and nuts.
<br>step 3: Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
<br>step 4: For the Topping:  In a saucepan, combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter and 1/4 cup cream. Bring to a boil, and continue boiling for 3 minutes. Cool slightly and pour over warm cake.
