Hearty Beef Vegetable Soup Recipe

Ingredients

<br>- 2 garlic cloves, minced
<br>- 1 (14.5 ounce) can whole tomatoes, drained (juices reserved), chopped
<br>- 2 cups chopped celery
<br>- 2 cups sliced carrots
<br>- 1 cup pearl barley
<br>- 2 bay leaves
<br>- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper, ground
<br>- 1 teaspoon dried basil
<br>- 2 teaspoons Savory Marketâ„¢ DeLuxe Beef Base
<br>- 2 cups red wine
<br>- 3 1/2 cups canned beef broth
<br>- 3 cups water
<br>- Chopped fresh parsley

<br>step 1: Heat oil in a heavy large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until brown, stirring occasionally, about 8 minutes. Add onion, celery and garlic and saute until onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in tomatoes with juices and all remaining ingredients except the parsley. Cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 1 hour 30 minutes. Sprinkle soup with parsley and serve.
