Lentil Frankfurter Soup Recipe

Ingredients
<br>- 1 cup dry lentils, rinsed
<br>- 2 slices bacon, diced
<br>- ½ cup chopped onion
<br>- 1 cup chopped celery
<br>- ½ cup chopped carrots
<br>- 8 cups water
<br>- 2 cups canned tomatoes
<br>- 1  bay leaf
<br>- 6  frankfurters, sliced
<br>- salt to taste
<br>- ground black pepper to taste

<br>step 1: Saute bacon and onion.
<br>step 2: Place lentils, bacon, onion, celery, carrots, water or stock, tomatoes, and bay leaf together in a large pot and simmer until tender, about 45 minutes.
<br>step 3: Add sliced wieners and salt and pepper to taste, and continue cooking for about 10 minutes.
