Mari's Dessert Pie Recipe

Ingredients
<br>- ½ cup butter
<br>- 1 cup all-purpose flour
<br>- ¼ cup white sugar
<br>- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
<br>- ½ cup white sugar
<br>- 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
<br>- 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix

<br>step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
<br>step 2: In a large bowl, Cut the butter into the flour and 1/4 cup sugar until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs; pat mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool to room temperature.
<br>step 3: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in half of the whipped topping. Spread mixture over cooled crust.
<br>step 4: In the same bowl, Mix pudding according to package directions. Spread over cream cheese mixture.
<br>step 5: Top with remaining whipped topping. Chill in refrigerator.
