Old English Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
<br>- 2 cups packed brown sugar
<br>- ¾ cup shortening
<br>- 2  eggs
<br>- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
<br>- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
<br>- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
<br>- 2 teaspoons baking soda
<br>- 1 teaspoon baking powder
<br>- 1 cup brewed coffee
<br>- 1 cup raisins
<br>- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
<br>- 1 cup chopped walnuts
<br><p></p>Directions
<br>step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F ( 175 degrees C ). Grease cookie sheets.
<br>step 2: In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and shortening. Add the egg and mix well. Sift together the flour, cloves, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder; add to the creamed mixture. Stir in the coffee until well blended, then stir in the raisins, nuts, and chocolate chips.
<br>step 3: Drop cookies by tablespoonful onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 15 minutes; cool on a wire rack.
