Pat's Simple Penne Recipe

Ingredients
<br>- 6 cups penne pasta
<br>- 1 pound bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces
<br>- 1 onion, thinly sliced
<br>- 3 1/2 (10.75 ounce) cans chicken broth
<br>- 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
<br><p></p>Directions
<br>step 1: Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain and reserve.
<br>step 2: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown bacon until crisp; drain on paper towels. Discard all but 2 tablespoons of bacon fat.
<br>step 3: Add sliced onions to skillet and cook over medium heat in bacon fat until slightly browned. Add broth, hot pepper flakes, and bacon; simmer until ready to serve.
<br>step 4: Add penne to mixture in skillet and heat until warmed through; serve immediately.
