Raisin Pound Cake Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 ¾ cups white sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup hot water
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup raisins
Directions
step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
step 2: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk and hot water, mixing just until incorporated. Stir in the raisins.
step 3: Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.
